Mountain gorilla tracking is the most done interesting adventurous activity done on earth, many tourists whole over the world have been attracted to this East African country sometimes referred to as the pearl of Africa to have this chance of meeting these endangered species in their natural habitat. Mountain gorillas are listed as engendered species, only 1050 individuals are left worldwide and these are shared by three countries that are Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Virunga Massif is considered to house the highest percentage of the gentle giants. About 600 mountain gorillas live in the Virunga Massif that is shared by Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Within the Virunga Massif, the mountain gorillas live in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park of Uganda, the Volcanoes National Park of Rwanda and the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic Of Congo.

Many intending trekkers found booking their gorilla permits through a tour and travel agent as quicker and less tedious way of reserving their gorilla permits by working with local Uganda tour operator. Booking through a tour operator will usually charge a fee of US$25-US$60 per gorilla permit , however some companies will not charge you for buying gorilla permits if you are booking other services like transfers and tours through us, but you will be charged if you need us to help you acquire the gorilla permit alone, a maximum of $50 applies on each gorilla permit we book for you.

Contact us at and let us know of the dates you want to tour Uganda and also indicate the dates you want to see the gorillas we shall arrange and book your gorilla permit on that particular day when you send us that information we will let you know if the days you want to track gorillas, gorilla permits are available and tentatively book them for you (but with no guarantee).

After confirming that permits will be available on your stated dates, we then send you our bank details for you to send the money for gorilla permits.

You will be required to send us your passport details including your full names, passport number and nationality to register your gorilla permits.
After sending your passport details, we register your names and get the gorilla permits. We send you scanned copies of your gorilla permit through an email.
Acquiring a gorilla permit is not a guarantee of seeing a gorilla. However, the chances of seeing them are high about 97 above%.

It’s always very easy for tour operators to get gorilla permits than booking individually as through their umbrella Association of Uganda Tour operators almost buy to 80% of the available tracking permits at up to 2 years out from the intended month of tracking. Each member can purchase up to 20 permits in any month.

You are advised to book your gorilla permit earlier at least 3-5 months prior to your tracking dates; gorilla permits are at a very high demand the earlier the better to avoid disappointment. Bwindi impenetrable national park has 23 habituated gorilla families, and in each group only 8 members are allowed to track per day which means that 192 people track mountain gorillas each day.
